A warm welcome to the Cardiff Reservoirs Fly Fishing Club web-site. The Club was founded in 1948 and is hosted as a sports section within St Joseph's Catholic Sports and Social Club, Cardiff.
The Club was originally formed from members who regularly fished Llanishen and Lisvane reservoirs until they were closed to public use in 2000.
Dwr Cymru (Welsh Water) is currently restoring these reservoirs and it is hoped that they will once again be used for trout fishing when works have been completed.
We meet every Thursday night (from 7 p.m.) at St Joseph's Catholic Sports and Social Club (Whitchurch Road, Cardiff) and welcome anyone with an interest in fishing, and specifically fly fishing for trout.
Club meetings provide regular fly-tying sessions, a weekly raffle and the occasional fishing quiz, fishing video presentations and a 'bring and buy auction' of fishing tackle
We also organise fly fishing outings to local venues as well as those further afield to famous fisheries such as Draycote Water, Chew Valley and Llandegfedd.
Ynys-y-Fro Top Pond has been stocked several times this season and is fishing well. The reservoir is open for fishing until further notice. See reports for further information.
Please note, anglers are asked to 'sanitize' their hands before entering the fishing hut to sign in. A new rule is in place - all fish over 3lb in weight must be returned alive.
